What's been your biggest achievement of the year?
Since last years HDA's and having 'Rokk Ya Body' come 3rd in the Top 3 Best Tracks, (a 1st for an unreleased track), we have had a fantastic year! Our biggest achievement in these past 12 months was being signed to Masif Nu Breed DJ's [International].
What moments will you never forget?
We have had two things that really stick in our minds.
Early this year we had the chance to work with the legend that is Steve Hill. Having him in the studio with us was amazing; we had such fun and made a corker of a track ‘Keep on Flying’, which will be released on Masif next year.
Then later on we had the pleasure of working with the queen of clubs, Anne Savage. We instantly clicked with Anne and had a wild time in the studio! We went with the flow and created 'So Addicted' which is forthcoming exclusively to AHR in 2009. To have two of Hard Dance's biggest names in our studio in one year is really something we will never forget!
Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?
There are a few really as the talent this year has really come in leaps and bounds!
First off there's Scott Fo Shaw, (A Storm resident who has now been singed to Tidy, all in one year!) We have watched Scott grow for some time now and is definitely in our top list along with Iridium, an amazing producer! This guy creates wicked tracks for the label High Drive recordings.
Also, Emilio from Norway. His Hard Trance stands out for us and is defiantly one to look out for!
DJ Ectic & Nicky D have also made some awesome tracks this year, so keep a close eye on these DJ's/Producers!
Who's been the artist of the year for you?
We’ve said this once and we'll say it again, Technikal.
Alf Bamford seriously rules all in the Hard Dance scene, every track he’s engineering never fails to impress us. We're really looking forward to working with him on Masif projects next year!
What's been your favourite label of the year?
Technikal Recordings, without a doubt!
What do you think has been the best track of the year?
Nicky D feat Amy D - 'Alive'. When we first heard Alive we were amazed! The vocal and originality is what made it for us and we just had to sign it to AHR right away! Nicky’s younger sister Amy D is something special, she has an amazing voice, and it really grabs hold of you! We have since remixed Alive alongside Emilio for AHR.
What's been your favourite event of the year?
Again, as last year it has to be Escape in Swansea. DJ/Promoter Rob Davies works extra hard to keep the vibrant, up for it vibe in the Welsh clubbing scene alive (all in one building!) We always enjoy playing in Wales, the people are crazy! We think it is one of the best places we've DJ'ed and we will be back again early January.
What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?
Finding out that the credit crunch had hit Maryland Cookies, to discover a one chip chocolate chip cookie. Haha
What do you have planned for the next year?
2009 will be a very busy year for us! First off is the launch of our label, AHR, which will contain solo tracks and remixes from us, as well as collaborations with up & coming and established artists. This will take up a big chunk of our time next year in the studio, along with our plans for an Audio Hedz album!
Our sample pack, AHSP Vol.1 will be available for all the budding producers out there. We thought it’s about time we let some of our power basslines go! Enclosed in it, everything you need to make power stompers!
Finally we will be working closely with Steve Hill and the other Masif artists on Masif projects for 2009, so really for us it’s hit the studio and make more music than we have this year, and continue to support the Hard Dance scene as much as we can.
