Adrenaline Dept.

What's been your biggest achievement of the year?

The 12 months have been pretty different with my partner of 3 years leaving the project early this year and me carrying on, trying to find my place in the world of hard dance as a solo-project. I'd already been a dj playing out for about 10 years before starting up production under the name 'Adrenaline Dept.' though, so it's just back to doing things 100% my own way - which is quite rewarding actually. This past year I've signed tracks for release on vinyl as well as on compilations and digital to big players like Masif, Impact Recordings and Tranzlation - but I think the biggest one is yet to come as I'm currently working in the studio on a collaboration with the lovely Amber D on a new and hugely uplifting track called 'Drop It' which I have high hopes for.

What moments will you never forget?

Playing for Frantic at Ministry of Sound in London, which has been a dream ever since I first started spinning records.

Who's been your favourite newcomer of the year?

Production-wise, I'll have to go with fellow norwegian Emilio. His sound is really getting up there with the rest of the best.

Who's been the artist of the year for you?

I'd have to say Technikal - the man can push hard dance forward all by himself basically.

What's been your favourite label of the year?

I'd have to go with Tidy.

What do you think has been the best track of the year?

Rob Tissera vs Quake - Holdin' on (Rob Tissera and Technikal Remix), other than that - I have a track called 'Frantic' coming out on Tranzlation 12" soon which has really been doing the business lately.

What's been your favourite event of the year?

AWsum vs Kiddfectious @ Ministry of Sound

What's the funniest thing that's happened to you?

Staying at Hilton Towers in London before the event at Ministry. My mate and I got really hungry and ordered a burger(!) from room-service and he said "if they come up here with that on a silver-trolley I'm going to scream from laughing". You can only guess what happened 5 minutes later...."Knock, knock. Mr. Madsen - may I enter with the trolley, sir?"

What do you have planned for the next year?

Well, I've finished and signed numerous tracks, remixes and collabs including tunes with Phil Reynolds and Carl Nicholson for release in 2009 and have lots more in the pipeline inlcuding a track with Amber D. For 2009 I'm also going to focus more on gigs as I've pretty much spent 2008 in the studio re-defining my own sound as a solo-act. I am for the first time also doing some engineering work exclusively for an Oxford DJ, which I don't normally do as I practially live on the north pole and it's not exactly easy just stopping by the studio..haha.
